Perhaps its most unusual aspect is that it is a creative, analytical art requiring its practitioners to think! Although, like any martial art Aikido has many combative techniques, it is also an art form. You will learn to appreciate the creative body movement and smooth flowing footwork necessary for mastery of the art."

Conflict Solutions: Part of the program involves a 15 minute group discussion around conflict lead by your certified corporate trainer and aikido instructor, balancing out theory with action. Course material will be given to each candidate after each session around conflict topics and hints and tips of how to handle conflict more effectively building self confidence and stronger relationships.

Aikido + Self Defense 8 week Introduction program (8 sessions – 1 per week)

  • Program location and time – Saturday mornings commencing 7th August 2010 at  New Farm State School community Hall           Time – 10.00am – 11.00am - Group Discussion around confict 11.00am - 11.15am ( not compulsory )

Course sessions cover:-

  • taiso (warm up  and fitness exercises)
  • kumi waza (all techniques practiced with partner)
  • Effective non-aggressive self defense techniques
  • Traditional  Aikido Principals that are transferrable in your professional or personal relationships
  • Training activities that assist in developing harmony with others
  • Conflict resolution discussion groups – 15 minutes

About Lee Stemm your Instructor: 

Lee has had 30 years martial arts experience and currently holds a 3rd Dan Yoshinkan Aikido Ranking with a Certified Instructor Certificate with International Yoshinkan Aikido Federation. She currently trains under 7th Dan Mori Sensei at West End for the past 11 years and over the past 3 years has been a private student participating in weekly one-on-one lessons. She runs her own leadership and coaching courses within the corporate and business sector focusing on leadership and conflict resolution. She is a qualified coach, counsellor and trainer and part of your program will be a 15 minute group discussions around conflict resolution strategies, providing take home course materials at the completion of each class.
